Nikita Weekend, that means a long weekend full of snowboarding for girls in a perfect shaped snowpark, in a top snowresort.
Together with other Girls you can improve your style and park riding.An experienced instructor will support each group. Julia Baumgartner & Elena Koenz are two of them.

With over 150 entries into the Nikita Photoshoot Contest from every corner the globe, Nikita boss Heida Birgisdottir and International Marketing Manager Geiri certainly had their work cut out trying to choose just two girls to participate in the SS11 shoot. 
With the mammoth task ahead, bleeding eyes by the end of it and a top list, the final two girls chosen to join the Nikita crew on the next photoshoot trip in Mexico are..
Laura Diehm from Munich, Germany …and… Lynn Vanderhallen from Maasmechelen, Belgium
21 year old Laura spent some time putting together the photos for her entry.  She’s a ‘true Bavarian girl’ at heart, originally from Zittertal, Austria but has spent the last 14 years in Munich.  She works at a big skate shop in Munich and has a French bulldog called Charlotti.  This will be her first trip out of Europe and she’s looking forward to joining the Nikita crew and team as one of the faces of the SS11 catalogue. 
Lynn, 19 years, also sent in some really cool shots of herself that showed how relaxed she’s going to be in front of the camera, it literally loves her!  The dark haired Belgian was pictured in some great landscape surroundings and has been known to traumatize some sheep by running after them.  In good company then.

Hola!  Nikita are already planning the next photoshoot for the Spring Summer 2011 look book.  Packing up and heading out from 23rd April 2010, the Nikita crew and team are hitting up North West Mexico.  If you feel you got the look or want to recommend a friend because you think ‘she’s got the look’ like Swedish pop duo Roxette sang in the late 80’s, then now is the time to reveal who you are and rápido!



Nikita are offering two places for two special senoritas to feature as a model in the forthcoming prized look book for next Spring Summer’s streetwear collection.  You will be picked from the piñata, contacted and flown out to join everyone on the shoot.  Only enter if you’re free to travel from 23rd April to 8th May 2010!  

Sophia Metzler (Germany), Angelisa Hollick (Canada) and Stefanie Suchy (Germany) entered the last contest and found themselves on location with Nikita in New Orleans.  Their photos will feature in next season’s Winter 2010 / 2011 look book and you can check out some photos of them on the shoot here – www.nikitaclothing.com/events.

Conditions of Entry
Senoritas!  Please enter by e-mailing Nikita as many photos / images as you like (to include profile and lifestyle shots) but the total file size must not exceed 2MB.  We need your full name, address, date of birth and contact details included in the e-mail to michelle@nikitaclothing.com before 15th April 2010.  You must be free to travel to the photoshoot from 23rd April to 8th May 2010.  Winners will be announced on 16th April.

Send in your action clips to Nikita and you can bag yourself an all-inclusive trip to Iceland in 2010.  Having exclusively run this contest based on girls sending in their snowboard clips, Nikita has widened the remit to include all-action heroines.  



From 19th January 2010 until 12th March 2010 you just need to get out there and get some footage together and show us whatever it is that gets your adrenalin pumping.  One winner will be chosen from all the entries to fly to Iceland in May 2010.  You will be greeted at Keflavik airport just outside Reykjavik and during your stay, will be escorted in and around the city centre where you’ll see the new flagship Nikita store, choose some brand new Nikita gear and get to join our friends at Arctic Adventures on an unforgettable surfing and snowboarding trip!  
Entry details
You must be female and 18 years or over.  You can send in as much footage as you like as long as there is plenty of action in there featuring you and the file being e-mailed is no bigger than 4MB.  Your footage will also be shown through Nikita’s YouTube and Mpora pages as well as the winner featured on our main Nikita website.  Please send in all entries from 19th January until 12th March 2010; winners will be announced on 18th March 2010.  As before, there are always so many great entries that we like to pay tribute where respect is due, so there will also be some special additional prizes to include Nikita clothing for the runners-up.  E-mail all entries to contest@nikitaclothing.com.

Our last winner, Ashley Thornton, sent in snowboarding clips that got the whole office wanting to go shredding, which bagged her the win and a trip to Iceland.  Since that entry Ashley has been signed up as part of the Nikita Team, USA.  



Ashley Thornton on entering and winning – “So I got a call from my good friend and she had seen that Nikita Clothing was doing a video contest on their web page. I checked it out and noticed I had one day until the deadline. I got hold of my videographer...he was super busy at the time filming but said he would do what he could to put my footage together. My dad then sent it in for me.  The following morning I checked my emails and I was the winner of the trip! I couldn't quite believe it.

I had no idea what to expect. I had never been out of North America before and have always wanted to. I saw wrecked ships, geothermal spots, and just beautiful land. Everyone at the Nikita office was awesome. I can't even explain how great it was. We all had a great time Arctic Rafting and toured more beautiful land and checked out the Blue Lagoon. I was excited before I left and I was excited the whole time I was there. I had such an amazing and perfect experience in Iceland. I absolutely loved it there. The people are so nice; it really was a trip of a lifetime.”

In what seems like a blink of an eye Nikita Clothing has approached a milestone 10 year anniversary in 2010. There’s hardly been enough time to sit back and recall just what an achievement that is however a perfectly fitting tribute to the celebrations began in September 2009 with the opening of Nikita’s first flagship store in Reykjavik, Iceland.



Nikita founders Heida Birgisdottir, Runar Omarsson and Valdi Hannesson were pioneers of the snowboarding, surf and skate scenes in Iceland before the inception of Nikita was realised. They invested in a core boardstore based in the heart of the city (and just 400 yards from Nikita’s flagship store now) and were the first distributors and retailers of some of the industry’s top name brands. They literally started a boardsports revolution in Iceland.



Heida initially began hand making a few pieces of streetwear to wear herself, until friends and customers started to notice and enquire about where they could purchase them. The designs began to filter through the shop floor to such a point that they were continually selling out. The girls needed their own identity and Heida’s designs were killing it. Production was limited with one pair of hands and a sewing machine, but knocking skills and brains together; Heida for her fashion background and designs, Runar with his marketing dexterity and Valdi as the money man, decided to go one step further by changing any previous plans they had personally, to all invest fully into the new venture – establishing Nikita.



Every small detail and element in creating and building the brand was slowly assembled; literally from scratch. They built a loyal and local fan base through the store before launching internationally as Nikita Clothing in 2000. From day one all were in agreement that the motivation and continuation of Nikita was for the love and passion of riding, a pact that stands to this day and has seen them, plus a huge following, enjoy the fruits of their labour the world over.



Nikita’s collections grew from one street fashion line created each Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter season to include a snow outerwear line each winter, a limited collection of styled silhouettes for party people called Nikita Selekzion and making sure the guys don’t feel left out, Atikin. All designs stand apart and away from anything else as each piece is Nikita’s own cut and sew; individual style with an infectious Scandinavian flavour and style.

The continual and growing relationship Nikita has with its customers, both fans and followers, is crucial. Where possible Nikita loves nothing more than the opportunity to get directly involved with them and be able to continue creating new chapters to the rising tale of a work in progress.

Nikita first met Cecilia when she competed at the Nikita Chickita Norway contest in March 2009. She rocked that event and deservedly won after an amazing second final round and picked up the Best Trick prize. An all expenses paid trip to compete at Nikita Chickita Europe was part of the win, so in April 2009 Cecilia made her way to Serfaus, Austria.

She blew away the judges with her super smooth style and amazing runs to clinch the contest, bagging a double Nikita Chickita win. At the time Cecilia had other sponsor commitments which Nikita respected, but we can now announce Cecilia is part of the Nikita team. We’re stoked to have her on board; not only for her skills but also her super chilled and relaxed personality.

Cecilia, from Örebro in Sweden, first started snowboarding at the age of 16 and now, at the age of 25 (on 23rd September) still finds it the most entertaining thing to do and loves it. Every summer Cecilia works to go riding in winter, where she rents a small house in Sälen, Sweden as her base. When she’s not traveling, competing or filming her favourite place to ride parks is in Kläppen and Tandådalen.

Cecilia says; “I’m happy to be on the team! Looking forward to being a part of Nikita.”
